Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first option. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to get stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. Also, it doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of an area.
It's still a good value for those whose home or office has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and can be used when you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle however. It also did a good job cleaning a variety of rooms and floors with various flooring types, such as certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was excellent, and it avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
With an elegant circular design that appears like a regular Roomba rather than the compact models this robot cleaner vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also the most intelligent. It features advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads on its own).
It's also the only robot vacuum or mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.
As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work, or during the night when you're trying to sleep.

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with many advanced features to help you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device that is similar to Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum, refills the water tank, and cleans and dries the mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of the combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and identify obstacles, making it more efficient than some of its premium rivals. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection however, it wasn't 100% foolproof during our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to prioritise your dirtiest rooms to ensure better performance. The app comes with a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It also has an app that's less intuitive and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin to empty.
