Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to devices that have slots. The item upgrader must be upgraded to blue level before the component can be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the items that are not ascending back.
