10 Misconceptions Your Boss Has Concerning Item Upgrading
Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The ability to upgrade items (click for more info) allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear with new affixes that boost the base stats of the item or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.
Items that have weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into more robust bases. Items with strong bases, such as Titans from eth, have no changes in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot from enemies, or received from missions and chests. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.
To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players will need to select it and click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade stats will be, as well as the necessary material or component needed to complete the upgrade.
There are three types of upgrade items components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, are able to be used in any kind of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are gems that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They offer the same benefits as jewels, however they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, add their name to the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding a Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and replaces the glyphs with a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions that are able to be swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from the previous versions in a few fundamental ways. Gear is now categorised in tracks and each item can be upgraded a certain number of times before it is "leveled out." The cost of upgrading is increased with each level however, the materials needed do not increase as much. This lets players focus their efforts on a handful of important items to maximize their impact instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple pieces.
When an item is finished being leveled, it will be able to receive a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.
Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its maximum level it is able to be given affixes that enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes available will depend on the item's class. For instance, a rare or unique weapon with a base that is normal will only have two affixes available for it, whereas legendary armors will have up to eight affixes for it.
Each upgrade step requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item upgrader mod is at its current level and what slot it is located in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item is not able to reach its max level The NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and cost the same amount of material. However, it has a lower rate of success.
Engineers use a level in order to compare the height of the building against an established location, such as the benchmark. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and level before turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are built to a high standard of safety and accuracy.
Rerolling
Rerolling refers to the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can dramatically enhance an item level upgrade's strength and damage as well as other attributes. This can be accomplished through the menu for items or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be used sparingly.
The game lets players recycle upgraded items, which are used to obtain reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or an similar item. Recyclable items come with an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.
Prior to this, some upgrades were given priority affixes, which made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you'd receive the stats most important to your build more often than others. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and the control impaired duration stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.
This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each statistic. This could be a positive or a bad thing, depending on your needs and requirements from your equipment.
Each upgraded item may also be equipped with a special, fixed-value bonus that increases its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to the normal affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the greater your chance of getting an exclusive bonus.
The game also features various sets which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on the same unit. This is a great method of giving a character a lot more power without spending a lot of money.
Many players prefer to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the early stages of the game. This is because rerolling could give players a faster route to becoming a strong character and allows them to climb higher levels and progress in the game much more quickly.
Sets
Sets are collections of elements that can be organized in different ways. They can have different dimensions, contain no elements at all, or contain a single element. They can be used to organize data or to sort information. They are also useful in analysing patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways, including size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of upgradeable set items. Some are worth upgrading, while some aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that provide high defense value and set bonuses. However, upgrades to weapons typically don't improve the quality of the item's stats when in comparison to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade when your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already large.
Certain set items are upgraded to meet their own special functions that can be beneficial in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).
Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items up to parity with the tiers. For instance, the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items could enhance their defense, and increase their competitiveness when it comes to damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item upgrades as well as the items required to upgrade it. This will display the item's characteristics, as well as the required items to upgrade it. For instance the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternatively, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the requirements for upgrading specific items.
In general, armor and weapons have higher value when fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will result in a significant increase in their performance. This will also boost the defense of armor with a newer appearance.
