For instance, the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to become entangled in shoes and socks and can't navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of the room.
It's still a great deal, especially if your office or home has a lot of bare floors and you're looking to save money. It's also extremely quiet and works while you are at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. With an elegant, circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competition's compact models, this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score 100% in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.
As with other iRobot models like the X40 is easy to use, offering a simple mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant.
