World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will be able to gain 3percent of its previous damage each time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor in order to give them a boost in stats or an extra effect. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot for them. The item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade item non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment as well as the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can alter the defense or attack properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop or getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-level version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much it will improve after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive, and it is possible that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Certain upgrades also provide an additional bonus when reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs buff the power of all nodes within a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible up to 15 levels.

It is commonplace to see in the final game that placing Glyphs is a great method to upgrade your equipment. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed by using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values can enhance a stat by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the value of the glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the various Glyphs as well as also a few rare glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will need them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus which will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, which is why it is recommended to place Glyphs in key locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, but also consider placing them near critical damage nodes too.

Leveling

The item upgrading system lets players increase the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components into them. This is referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item has an amount that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to be reached and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets advanced in level.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained from the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrade the item. Once enough points are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When the player upgrades an item the original item will be replaced with the new item upgrader. This means that the same armor piece will become the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new Best item upgrade will also have a unique bonus. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could be more expensive even if you do not need it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will come with the level 1 base, and a different set of bonuses. This can be useful however it should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player continuously enters or exits the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the max roll by a factor of 10. This item can be extremely useful in PvP battles, since a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to increase the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapons will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original state and the player having to pay for more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or speed of reload). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it increases its crit chance that it will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade--for example, a common equipment item upgrader mod might have 5 upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items could require different upgrades than standard gear. For instance they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each upgrade requires the use of different ingredients for upgrading.
