WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade item boosts the level of an item upgrade by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for the latter because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the Item level upgrade (Yogaasanas.science) will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and other items. They can be bought by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which will show an image of the item at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current item upgrading level. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.

Many locations have upgraders for their items which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a possibility of getting the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases with the number of items being upgraded. It can also be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades require various methods, which is both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system was modified a bit, and several new features added. When a player has an upgrade to a specific level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that same item level will cost less, even in the event that they are part of an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

Players have a number of choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.

First, you should know that crests are only available for equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complicated requires as many as 20 crests, based on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities, or by completing dungeons and raids in all difficulty levels to obtain equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons that have a high difficulty for gear in the endgame. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it does bring some changes to the process of upgrading. When a piece of equipment attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This is to allow players to get their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests with care, since they have only one purpose. For instance, it's a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the best equipment you have and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to create. This is especially applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
