Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot cleaning machine vacuum can keep your floors clean enough to cut down on the frequency of manual hoovering. Choose a robot vacuum that has good navigation, has the ability to clean stairs and corners, and that has large bins that will need to be emptying every so often.

There are models that can mop and charge themselves This is an advantage that is essential for families with children or pets. A lot of the top performers in our tests also offer decent obstacle-avoiding capabilities.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is an excellent option for those who want an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the robot's dustbin after it has filled up.

Both robots are adept at removing surface dirt on hard floors and carpets, and they can easily move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home to help the i3+ navigate and clean up efficiently. The i3+ isn't able to have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we test. It can get stuck on power cords and socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces, like rug and hardwood.

iRobot suggests that you clean up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it might come across. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter clear to avoid becoming clogged. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and emptys the dirt into the docking station's external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning where it started. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for about an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes around three hours to recharge.

2. iRobot i7+ Roomba

The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line and comes with the latest technology. It has self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most significant feature is the self-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ is able to better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and direct your robot by voice or via the app.

The i7+ is faster and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin, which removes major maintenance sources and reduces the cost of maintenance.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning routines and to move around the room and vacuum the area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to speak commands to the i7+ like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.

The V10 is powered with seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries, which produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then releases cleaner air into your home. Its specialized cleaning head drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to collect large particles and fine dust. It has three different suction modes that can be adjusted to suit the task. It quickly converts from floor vac to handheld vacuum and back.

The model comes with a dock which charges the Dyson to 100% in 3.5 hours. It also offers an easy access to two attachments and a handheld. This is a significant improvement over older Dysons, which require a lengthy charge and are a pain to store.

The main issue with the V10 is its short running time. As CR's tests show, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a standard, not exceptional, battery-powered vacuum's run time. That's still enough run time to get rid of the majority of an average-sized house however, it's not enough to clean every area (though the second time around usually will suffice). This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeable superior for carpet floors with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

One of the most well-known robot vacuums, the 694 is a basic model that's a great option for those who don't want to invest too much money on a robot. It could pick up all kinds of debris in our testing and often went over the same area many times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front end helps it to reach into corners and along the walls' edges and walls, which is a nice touch.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more sophisticated models like our top selections, the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It is prone to getting stuck on phone cords or low furniture and will often run out of power before returning to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects in that it has fewer parts that need regular cleaning and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and is better at moving itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.

The elegant RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for most purposes, because it has a better battery life, can change its suction power mode manually, comes with physical boundary strips, and can be operated by your phone's voice assistant. It is also more durable, has a stronger motor, and can perform better on floors with low pile and bare.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's not a surprise that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has an advanced onboard technology that allows to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app gives you plenty of options to customize your robotic cleaner, such as virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior customization, docking frequency settings, and much more. It's simple to comprehend and user-friendly, as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it cleaned up 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). However, it didn't do particularly well at avoiding higher-up objects like cords or socks which was disappointing. It's priced higher than other models that we tested, and this could be a deal breaker for some shoppers.

The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that you can access through the app. You can also create a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature lets you keep track of your pets or the kids if you're away from home. The dustbin and the filter can be cleaned to ensure the quick and easy cleaning. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with an automatic clean station which helps to keep the best robot vacuum deals's bin clear and maximizes suction power.

6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum

In contrast to other robotic vacuum cleaner deals vacuums which are designed for both carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They have an extra wide cleaning path and a dustbin that is 2X bigger than the competitors. This lets them keep the area clean for longer. Plus, they include two side sweepers that clean around edges and corners. The POWERSERIES model also comes with AutoSense that automatically adjusts the power level based on whether it is picking up surface dirt or embedded dirt. It also includes a smart application that lets you see the virtual map and manage the functions and schedules. Additionally, you can track the status of the vacuum's battery and then return it to its dock to charge by pressing one button. The app also allows you to customize the lights on top of the vacuum with different colors so you can clearly see the areas where it's focused or where it's stuck.

The app makes it possible to steer the robot manually, if necessary. My living room rug for example is darkly colored that could cause trouble for other robots. The HRV 425BL, however continued to travel across the border, without notifying the edge. And the ability to set up weekly cleaning schedules is a fantastic time-saving feature.
