WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the item upgrade level, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool using the help of button, which will display an item's preview at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current item level Upgrade (Mybookmark.stream) level. For instance, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item upgrading has been upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Many locations offer item upgrading upgraders which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades are acquired via a variety of means, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and numerous new features added. Once a player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is true regardless of whether the items are from an entirely different set of equipment.

The discount applies to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain achievement milestones.

Crests

Players have a variety of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be used to purchase gear of a specific rank, and that every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, based on the kind of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.

Using these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, once an item is at the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests with care, since they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's Best item upgrade to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
