Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum robot will keep floors clean enough to reduce the frequency at which you'll need to manually vacuum. Find one that has an easy navigation, can clean corners and stairs, and has a large dust bin that needs emptying only once in a while.
There are models that can mop and charge themselves This is an advantage important for families with children or pets. The top performers in our tests have excellent ability to overcome obstacles.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ an excellent option for those who want a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience, but don't mind manually emptying their robot's dustbin when it fills up.
Both robots are proficient at removing surface dirt on hard floors and carpets and are able to maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart maps of your home that help the i3+ navigate and clean efficiently. The i3+ does not feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots that we tested. It may get stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces, like carpet and hardwood.
iRobot suggests that you clear areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, including putting away any toys or clutter it might encounter. It's also recommended to keep the dust bin and filter clean so that they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or its battery is empty it will return to its docking station and automatically empties its trash into the station's dust bin and then resumes cleaning where it began. The battery's life span is approximately an hour and a half of constant use. It takes three hours to fully charge.
2. Roomba by iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in the iRobot flagship line, and it has the most up-to-date features. It is self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most important feature is its self-emptying bin. This removes the need for routine maintenance.
The Roomba I7+ is able to better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can direct your robot using the app or by voice.
In our testing, the i7+ was more agile and faster than our top choice which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface kinds including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin that removes major maintenance sources and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning routines and to move around the room and vacuum an area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to speak commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world full of best vacuums with cords that are like minivans and buses, this small Dyson model feels like an old-fashioned sports car. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then releases fresh air into your home. The specially designed head utilizes stiff nylon bristles to penetrate into carpets and collect large dust or crumbs. It comes with three suction settings to suit the task at hand. It is able to quickly change from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.
This model has an attached dock that charges the Dyson to 100 percent within 3.5 hours. It also provides the ability to connect two attachments and a Wand. This is a significant improvement over earlier Dysons models, which require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.
The main drawback of the V10 is its sluggish run time. Its claims on the market that it can last up to 60 minutes of run time are misleading as CR's tests show. This is a common battery-powered cordless vacuum's running time. This is enough time to vacuum the typical home, but not enough to reach every spot. (A second time usually works). That's not to say this model doesn't have its benefits: It's lighter and agile than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is significantly better on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have lots of money to invest in an expensive best robot vacuum under 200. It's capable of sucking up most kinds of debris in our testing, and it often passes over the same areas many times to get a really thorough clean. Its flat front end helps it to reach into corners and along the edges of walls which is a nice touch.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the ability to map that comes with more sophisticated models such as our top selections and the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. As a result, it may get stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it frequently is power-depleted before making it back to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum cleaner industrial vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects in that it has fewer components that need regular cleaning and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It is also more durable and has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on both bare floors and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a wider array of automation features.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a brand is seen on a variety of home electronics So it's no surprise that they're also one of the most reputable robot vacuum and mop manufacturers. Their Jet Bot AI+ is packed with cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app gives you plenty of options to customize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior modification docking frequency settings and more. The app is easy to use and understand, just like other Samsung devices.
In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and removed 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). However, it didn't do particularly well at avoiding larger objects, like cords and socks which was a disappointment. It's also more expensive than other models we've tested and this could be a deterrent for some shoppers.
The app lets you access the onboard camera of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's cleaning area. This feature lets you check in on your children or pets while you're away. The dustbin and filter can be cleaned to make cleanup quick and easy. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with a self-emptying clean station, which helps keep the bin clean and maximizes suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Unlike other robotic vacuums, which are designed for both hard floors and carpets, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They have a wider cleaning robots for home, Going Here, path and an extra-large dust bin that can hold 2X more debris than the competition to keep the cleaning area free of debris for the longest period of time. They also include two side sweepers to clean around corners and edges. The POWERSERIES model includes AutoSense which adjusts the power level depending on whether it's picking up surface dirt or embedded dirt. It also has a smart app that lets you view the virtual map and manage functions and schedules. You can also track the status of the vacuum and then send it to its dock for charging at the click of a button. The app also allows you to customize the LED lights on the top of the vacuum with different colors, so that you can easily identify what areas it's focusing on or where it's stuck.
The app makes it possible to steer the robot manually, if necessary. For example my living room rug has a darkly-colored border that has a tendency to make it difficult for other robots I've tested. The HRV 425BL however was able to continue to move across the border without ever registering the cliff. The ability to program a daily cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving benefit.
