The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests of floors with no carpet, and they are particularly adept in cleaning hair from dogs. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our first choice. One of the flaws of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's therefore prone to get stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people efficiently during our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.
It's still a good deal for those whose office or home has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also quiet and can be used while you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with a self-emptying dock, though. If you want to, you can switch the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of seconds.

It can even clean the floor after it vacuums this feature, which we've not seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

This mop and vacuum combination is sleek and has a circular design that looks much like a Roomba model than the bulky models from the competition. It's among our most appealing looking robot vacuum with mop vacuums. The newest model from iRobot is its most advanced and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).
It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to use. It comes with an easy mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's loud which could be problematic if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.
It's also quite expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however it will cost you more and produce more noise.
