World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.

For instance an item with the upgrade template ending in % will suffer an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases as the item level rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor in order to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of that equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure how much it will be improved following a reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly, and there is a substantial possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break if it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that double or even eliminate the chance of failure, and some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the effectiveness of all nodes in a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as you can to level 15.

It is commonplace to see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the Best item upgrade way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15, and they provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes more quickly.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs, you will need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

The use of Glyphs Glyph will boost all nodes connected to it, so you should try to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to improve the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level requires a different number of components to reach and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is advanced in level.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained from completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When an individual player upgrade an item it will be replaced by the new item. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This could be a drawback, as it can make the Best item upgrade more expensive if you do not need it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough tokens to do so. This causes the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will have the level 1 base, and a different set of bonuses. This is a good idea however it shouldn't be done often as it can be a waste of resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their gear. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or swims like a dolphin). The item can be upgraded many times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is extremely useful in PvP battles, since an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear which can have eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting back to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance and attack damage, and all additional effects associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

If an item upgrades is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in the chance of crit, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment item might have 5 upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements from normal equipment. For instance they might require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will have to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment will require different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the costs listed above.
