10 Unexpected Item Upgrade Tips
Throne and Liberty Gear Upgrades
Upgrades can increase the stats of a piece of gear and at times even add additional features. The value of these upgrade is determined by the levels of gear, their requirements, and how many random augmentations are applied.
The most powerful racial Shield Razortail, for example, is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorption capabilities in PvP, and/or to provide additional defenses to missile-based build in the PvM. This makes it more tradeable over the original version that is not upgraded.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens allow you to roll a purchased item such as a weapon, armor or ring. The item is replaced with another of the same kind and comes with different benefits. Reroll tokens are a cost-effective option to upgrade equipment. They don't keep the original item's level and any money wasted won't get compensated.
The surviving players can acquire tokens to reroll in many ways, including through the Mistery Box and rare drops from skulled creatures. They are also available in crates and chests or buy them from the stores for $150 each. Reroll tokens can be used to change an attribute of a piece of equipment, such as increasing its damage or giving it a new stat.
Players can reroll equipment in three attributes, physical power, spell power and health. Upgrades to physical power can increase the damage caused by weapons and melee attack, while upgrades to spell power boost mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades give players additional health.
Three types of rerolls tokens are available such as upgrade rare and legendary. Each of these upgrades an item to a better quality and requires a higher-level reroll token in order to make it. Upgrades with enhanced capabilities require a common item, while rare upgrades require a special or legendary item and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.
The marker for rerolling, unlike markers or tokens that are placed on action areas, remains on the space till the next success is to be rerolled. This helps to avoid wasting upgrades.
Blueprints appear as envelopes at the beginning of each Preparation Stage, and are opened by grabbing them with Interact. When they are opened, they display a full description and the icon of the relevant appliance or ingredient. The restaurant's shop can swap blueprints for a new appliance or ingredient for a small amount.
In the course of an event, blueprints may be moved between the Staple Pool and the Non-staple pool due to chosen Franchise Cards. This alters the blueprints that the restaurant's shop sells to reroll and which are available in the non-droppable Pool.
Growthstones
In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to upgrade weapons, armor and other accessories. These stones are special stones that increase the level of an item by improving its stats or characteristics. They can be found by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs located in the major towns. New players may find it difficult to obtain Growth Stones. There are a variety of methods to obtain these stones, such as signing contracts and buying them from the Contract Coin Merchant, defeating Abyssal Contract enemies, collecting them from the Equipment Stone Seal Book, or getting them from the reward chests during the Ancient Arena season. Players can also break down higher-level Growth Stones into multiple lower-level stones.

Items with upgraded stats will have a blue icon beside their slot. In contrast to enchantments, upgrade components don't stack against each other, and can only be added to a single item at one time. Furthermore each upgrade component will require a certain number of items to be used in addition to an initial level for the equipment.
The Upgrade Station is divided into two slots. On the left, players can add items to be upgraded. On the right, a preview shows what the equipment will look like when it reaches its next level. Pressing the yellow arrow once a player has sufficient materials will begin the upgrade process.
An item upgrades of equipment can be upgraded up to five times. Each time it is upgraded the base stats of an item will be increased by only a tiny amount. The highest level for an item is 19.

Some items benefit from being upgraded less for their increased stats, but more for the fact that it allows players to gain the maximum amount of value from a flawless roll on the item.
