Does Technology Make Item Upgrade Better Or Worse
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random additional substat is also increased with every upgrade.
The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item upgrader mod is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.
The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with an button, which displays an image of the item when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.
Upgrade costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current Best item upgrade level. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.
Item upgraders can be found in many places, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount as well as a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.
In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no item upgrader available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades require a variety of means which is both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system was altered a bit, with several new features added. After a player has earned an upgrade to a particular level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will cost less even if they belong to another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
When upgrading gear in WoW, players have a few options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific upgrades to the level of an item. Crests are an integral component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
The first thing to be aware of is that crests can only be used on equipment of a particular rank, and every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade requires up to 20 crests, based on the type or equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities, or by completing dungeons and raids in all difficulties to get lower-level gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item upgrades in the proper steps and pathways.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system introduces some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests with care, since they are only used for one purpose. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
