The best rated robot vacuum Robot Hoover
The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and will leave your floors spotless. Its surprisingly affordable price and features that are high-end (such as dirt detection) are a plus.
Make sure you regularly check your robot's brushes for hair that is tangled and large debris, and wash them when required. Some models can also automatically empty their dust bin on board into a larger bin at the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They have motors that are top-of-the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the most powerful model), they use intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans that avoid obstacles like cords and furniture leg. They also feature carpet boost, a feature that increases the robot's power when it detects an abundance of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned up quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on floors that were bare They are also adept in cleaning dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws however, which hinder them from being our first choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.
It's still a good value for those whose home or office has a lot of bare floors and you're looking to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and works while you are at work or in school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. And it's less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on very well and can't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for a wet one in seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can also sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean and effective in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features self-emptying dustbins as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors that help it avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time and provide better cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and set up zones with the well-designed app. It comes with a battery life that is comparable to other models.
You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when it's in a carpeted room to prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is ideal for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete the entire house with 66 percent of its battery left. It also did an excellent job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms with mixed flooring types, including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, and bundles of cables.
It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With an elegant circular design that looks like a regular Roomba rather than the boxy units, this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most appealing looking in our evaluations. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).
It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors including a structured lighting system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.
The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has an easy mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work or during the night when you're trying to sleep.
It's also quite expensive, although it's not as pricey as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally powerful and look better. If you're willing to live some more volume and a little more cost, this is a very powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take charge of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank and cleans and dry its mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time however, it wasn't foolproof in our testing and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The automatic vacuum and mop robot cleaner comes with a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also comes with an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house depending on how dirty the areas tend to be.
For larger homes it's recommended to choose one with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean a particular area of your house by using the app or voice controls. A stairway mode is useful if you have a lot furniture. Also, a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue where it left off is ideal for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd imagine from its price. It vacuums well and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad and a rotating motion that is more efficient than most mop cleaners for robots that we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying base that can be washed.
The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate a mapping run which collects information about your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning robot mop and vacuum schedules, set up the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritize your most filthy rooms for better performance. The app also provides access to a host of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has a strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot clean that intensely cleans a localized area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it is more likely to be caught in low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums that we have test. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
