What is an Upgrade Item in Genshin Impact?

Upgrade items are a special type of item that can ensure that Pokemon evolve. They can be obtained by spinning Pokestop discs, or as rewards for events that are related to evolution.

They can be incorporated into trinkets, armors, weapons and gathering tools to add additional stats or effects. Certain upgrades also provide the appearance of a certain cosmetic when used.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons, armors and weapons to provide a bonus effect or a unique feature when the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, looted, obtained as rewards, crafted or dropped. Upgrade components must be of a higher level than the item they're being added to, and most also require that the item upgrading have an upgrade slot to accept them. Upgrade components can be substituted with other upgrade components, excluding for glyphs and inscriptions which can only be removed or added freely.

Gems, infusions and enrichments are among the most commonly used upgrade components. Gems are upgrade components that can be inserted in any kind of equipment, and offer lesser bonuses than other upgrade components. Infusions and enhancements can only be used on non-amulet equipment and on certain legendary equipment. They can be salvaged from the equipment they're within by using an Upgrade Extraction Device, or by salvaging them with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.

Other upgrade items like inscriptions or glyphs can only be removed or added to the gathering tools. They can provide a range of bonus effects like increasing the gather speed or adding additional materials. Inscriptions can also alter the name of an item upgrades, for instance changing an item's name to 'Fiery Sword' by adding a Sword Pommel of Fortitude inscription, or by adding a Rune of Minor Vigor suffix to make it 'Canthan Armor of Major Vigor'.

Glyphs

Glyphs represent an idea or idea using symbols in character. A glyph could be an icon or a drawing, such as an eagle or heart. These symbols can be used to create an entire visual language. Additionally, a glyph can have a standardized code that is used to refer to it across fonts. This code is called a Unicode.

The shape of glyphs dictates what Primary Stats and Secondary Stats can be added. Some glyphs will have both Primary and Secondary Stat bonuses, while others have only one or the other. The glyphs with both Secondary and Primary Stats add to the total stats of the unit while glyphs with only a single Primary Stat bonus will multiply the stat's value.

It is simple to use glyphs. Click and hold on the text insertion to open the Glyphs Panel, then select a glyph. You can also see a list of all the available glyphs by clicking View All Glyphs. The glyphs are displayed in order of their Unicode code and you can choose the one you wish to add by clicking it.

When you create a glyph set, the file is saved along with other InDesign preferences and can be shared. The glyphs are not tied to any specific document and can be edited by selecting Edit Glyphs Set from the Glyphs Panel menu. You can also specify whether the glyphs remember their fonts when you insert them into text.

Rare glyphs are very important for your build and you should begin farming them as soon as possible. They are frequently found in World Tier 3 dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, Helltides, and other content from the endgame. They are much easier to obtain than the scarce shards you can collect from crafting items, and can be a much more valuable upgrade item for your gear. Moreover, the fact that they can be applied to a wide range of items means you can increase the damage and defense of your gear without investing too many shards.

Rerolling

Rerolling is a common practice in Genshin Impact, as it allows players to increase their chances of getting the most effective characters and weapons. The process involves creating a brand new account, and then claiming pre-registration rewards or launch rewards, which give players a opportunity to acquire random items. This is not without risk.

The game has a broad selection of upgrade items that improve the performance of an individual unit. Upgrades for weapons, armor and rings are available. The upgrades improve the armor and weapons physical strength, and the rings improve a character's health. Players can also purchase Corkian amplifiers to increase the effectiveness of upgrade items.

In addition to these upgrades, players can also reroll their equipped items. Rerolling an item equipped resets the item upgrader mod's base power, the number of upgrades and chooses random substats. This is useful if an item's fully upgraded power is lower than what is desired, or if the player would like to alter its substats.

To reroll a item, the player must first unlock the upgrade component. This can be done by pressing the box icon on the main screen of the game to open the item window. The player is then able to select up to six items to be used for "recycling". The item will be upgraded with random rarity components, level and stat.

When the item is changed, the player has to pay a cost to complete the process. The cost increases according to the rarity and value of the upgrade component. After that, the player has to repeat the process in order to unlock more upgrades.

Before submitting the patch it is important to test the patch locally. This will help you find any conflicts that require resolution. If the patch doesn't have any conflicts then it can be combined with the upstream branch. The patch must then be uploaded to an issue. It is also beneficial to create a plain diff, which makes it easier for other developers to review the patch.
