Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as PvE damage and crit chance.

Components

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them; the item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be applied. An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the item to the upgrade (for instance "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with fewer upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level with normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher tier version of an item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue upgrading their gear, even if they're unsure of the extent to which it will improve after a future reset.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your equipment. Leveling

The item upgrading system lets players increase the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is commonly known as "upping".
