The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. Multitaskers can be a great option for those who want to get rid of mopping off their list of tasks. Some of them have excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model to select if you're looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It is smaller than other models, making it more maneuverable in tight spaces or under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in robot vacuum and mop vacuums. It has a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It can even return to the dock to replenish its battery halfway through cleaning.
It's fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It is able to best automatic vacuum and mop carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen, and hallways with just one pass. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to clean dirt hair, pet hair, and even droppings with ease. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the two side brushes help to tease away debris from corners.
The mopping performance is a little less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop rotates quickly and uses 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when getting into tight corners or on baseboards. The front arms can be used to clean up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.
Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've ever used. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It's simple to install and is effective however it's something you'll have to be aware of in case you're purchasing this vacuum solely for the purpose of it mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great choice for homeowners looking to purchase an extremely efficient, flexible, and customizable cleaning machine.
The device has a powerful and impressive cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the home and locate furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean effectively and effectively. This will ensure an even and thorough clean, while also being relatively rapid.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach an array of surface areas. This includes corners or baseboards, as well as other difficult-to-access spots. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor close to the walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads can be dried and washed to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce odors.
App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction strength and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also select the number of passes which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.
This device is expensive but it comes with a lot of smart features. However, it's important to keep in mind that it has recurring costs, such as mopping supplies and maintenance. For instance, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.
The robot vacuum mop is a top Amazon rating and includes many physical automation features. This includes a power button that serves as a general "Clean button as well as a Home' button that will send it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning session. It also comes with a multi-functional dock which automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home tidy without spending too much time doing chores. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation and long battery life make it easy to keep a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a two-in-one mop and vacuum. It is able to perform mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two modules, a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped out and in and a mopping unit that has an elastomer pad. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may appear a bit dated however, they mean you don't have to think about changing disposable bags or refueling the tank with water.
Our testers discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its best robot vacuum cleaner and mop feature was its precise floorplan that it uses to determine a route when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of picking up hair from pets. It was able to capture some of the hair shed by our cats, and even got into some of the nooks and crannies on our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was fairly quiet and had some nice jingles that indicated when it was starting or completing its task.
The app was too simple and you had to alter the modules each time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app isn't able to contain multiple maps, which could be a pain when you live in a house that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for an intelligent robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our review, however it has some distinct features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its huge dock that serves as the Robot Vacuums that mop's charging base and housing for two water tanks, a cleaning sink, and a 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically eliminates.
The base also comes with a set of buttons to control the system. These allow you to manually start a cleaning job or recall the robot or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are concerned about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni, like other robotic cleaner and mop vacuums uses its camera to detect obstacles and furniture in its path. It will steer clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni could sometimes get so entangled with an obstruction, such as the power cord that is draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. This was a rare incident however it was frustrating since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert on its app.
Another potential downside is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You will need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad except for the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a major change from the utilitarian all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing view in a market that is dominated by clunky boxy models.
