What is Evolution?

The term "evolution" is derived from the Latin word for unrolling or revealing. However, the concept itself has a myriad of meanings over the years as it has taken shape in the sciences and other fields. Early evolutionists such as Erasmus Darwin (Charles’s grandfather) and 에볼루션 사이트 Jean Baptiste de Lamarck believed that species were predetermined to change into another species. Etienne Geoffroy St-Hilaire was Lamarck's embryologist student who coined the term "transmutation" to describe this view. Despite the fact that evolution has stood the test of time and thousands of scientific tests however, creationists have taken advantage of the notion that the theory is controversial to claim that it shouldn't be taught in school. In South Korea, creationists won some victories against evolution in high school textbooks. In the United States some states have taken steps to limit the teaching evolution. OECs might not be as well-known, but their beliefs are as passionate like those of YECs. OECs believe that the universe and all life on Earth are billions of years old and they believe that evolution is a myth.

Both forms of creationism deny the idea that scientific principles like biogenesis and natural selection could explain how life began on Earth. Some creationists are able to accept both naturalistic evolution and special creation, and refer to their belief "theistic evolution." STR has won its first victory in taking away instances of the evolution of the horse as well as an avian ancestor called the Archeopteryx in textbooks. The next goal is to remove excerpts from Darwin’s infamous finch-research and also on human evolution.

STR claims to have the backing of 4,000 families as well as individual members. Its mission, it states is to cleanse the world of what it calls "atheist materialism" that paints an image of students as being negative. It also hopes to combat the influence of American creationists in the United States. A survey of biology students teachers revealed that a majority do not believe in the concept of evolution. The causes aren't clear however, they could be related to religion and the absence of full-time creation scientists across the country.

The KACR accomplished a number of things through its lectures and seminars in the past. It publishes a bimonthly magazine called Creation and a book. One of these was a textbook on natural science with a creationist stance. It sparked interest among college communities. In 1991, a professor and minister started teaching Creation Science in one university, and it is taught until today.

On August 6 and 7, 1993, coinciding with the World Expo opened in Daejeon, KACR held a second International Symposium on Creation Research. Six lecturers from around the world including ICR's John Morris, Duane Gish, and Steven Austin spoke to audiences of over a thousand. KACR members and KACR have also given lectures on creation science in prestigious seminaries. KACR plans to establish a Creation Science Education Center.
