Carbon fiber is naturally resistant to oxidation, which shields it from the ravages caused by corrosion. It has a lower coefficient than steel and therefore is less likely to change shape when exposed to heat. The properties of fatigue are superior to those of metal, therefore, carbon fiber will last longer than metal counterparts.

One of the most well-known uses of carbon fiber is aircraft fuselages and tailplanes. The strength and light weight of the material has allowed designers to create aircrafts that are more efficient and safer than before.
