Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item level Upgrade by 3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current item level of the item being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item upgrades from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade item is purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool with an button, which displays an image of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

upgrade item costs vary depending on the slot of the item and the current item level. For instance, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. The use of these currencies isn't too difficult, but the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item is at the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to get their gear up to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. For instance, it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan to make. This is particularly applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all slots are full of high-quality gear.
