Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes. They can also increase its stats base or add additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Typically items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, while items with strong bases such as eth titans do not vary in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be used to upgrade trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is used. They can be bought from vendors, or found as loot by enemies, or gotten from chests and missions. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain level before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade an item of armor, the player has to select it, and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be and also the necessary material or component needed to make that happen.

There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be used on any kind of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type limitation. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are exactly the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix at the end of the item's name. For instance, adding the suffix Glyph could transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph with another the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, excluding the inscriptions that can be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important differences from the previous versions. Gear is now categorized in tracks and each item can be upgraded a certain number of times before it is "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, but the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of those items rather than dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

This will enable the item to receive new upgrade components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level it can be eligible to receive affixes that will boost its attributes. The number of affixes available is determined by the item level upgrade's kind. For example an uncommon or rare weapon with a normal base will have only two affixes to choose from, while legendary armors will have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade requires a certain number of Flightstones and crests based on the item's current level and the slot it's in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item fails to reach its maximum level, the NPC grants players the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours and cost the same amount of material. However it has a lower chance of success.

To determine the height of a building engineers use an instrument to compare the measurement with an established reference point like a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and the level and then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that structures are built to a high degree of precision and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial element of the game and can improve the strength, damage or other characteristics. This can be done via the item menu or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be performed in rare cases.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to earn Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a comparable item. Recyclable items come with a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.

Prior to this, some upgrade items were given priority affixes, which made them easier for players to roll. It meant that you'd get the most crucial stats to your build more often than others. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns, and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for each stat. This can be good or bad, based on what you want and need from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may be equipped with a special bonus that boosts the Item upgrader kit's power by a fixed percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to the regular affixes. The more you improve an item, the higher your chance of getting the bonus of your choice.

The game also includes number sets that give a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on an item. This is a great way to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending an excessive amount of money.

Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, particularly in the beginning of the game. This is because rerolling can give players a faster route to becoming a strong character which allows them to achieve high tiers and progress the game faster.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be arranged in different ways. They can be of various dimensions, contain no elements at all, or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or sorting information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways in terms of size and shape.

There are many set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item and the required items to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed as well as any necessary items. For instance, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and armor have a higher trade value when they are fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will result in a significant improvement in their stats. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this as its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
