It can even clean the floor after vacuuming it, something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combos.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This mop and vacuum combination features a sleek, circular design that looks much like a Roomba model than the bulky models of the competitors. It is one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It comes with advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to the combination of modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through the mapping process that collects data on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to set up an automatic spot-clean. It can also be used to it to rank your most filthy areas for better performance. The app offers a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
