It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has a perfect 10 in our evaluations, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot vacuum uk in our tests that can fully self-refill and empty its base station, and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, with a simple mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in mornings before work or at night when you're trying to fall asleep.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and detect obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its competitors with premium features. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazards detection but this wasn't foolproof in our tests and was often confused with power cords or obstructions.
