One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology which means it's susceptible to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a good deal, especially if your office or home has a lot of unfinished floors and you want to save some money. It's also quiet and works while you're at work or in school. The only thing it doesn't have that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with an auto-emptying dock, however. And, if you need to, you can swap the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of seconds.

It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robot vacuum cleaners best vacuum/mop combination.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba rather than the boxes This robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our evaluations. iRobot's latest flagship model also is its most advanced and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that has a perfect 10 in our evaluations, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with an easy mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 still a loud unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work or during the night when you're trying to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally powerful and more attractive. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable however it's going to cost you more and make more noise.

It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating movement which is cleaner than the majority of the robot mop cleaners that we've examined. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or create an automatic spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for greater efficiency. The app also gives access to a host of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it can reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It features an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction as well as clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans the area.
