The i3+ does not feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we tested. It may be stuck on power cords and socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces like rug and hardwood.

iRobot suggests that you clean up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it might come across. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filters clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+'s internal bin is filled or the battery is low it will return to its docking station, automatically empties its debris into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning the area where it started. The battery's life span is approximately an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes three hours to fully charge.

2. IRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and comes with the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. But the most significant feature is its self-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, which allows it to create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can direct your robot using the app or by voice.

The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though it self-empties its dust bin which removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the cost of maintenance.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot to start or stop cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room and even vacuum a specific area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. After connecting we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring performance.

The main issue with the V10 is its limited running time. Its marketing claims that it can last up to 60 minutes of running time are misleading as CR's tests have shown. This is a standard battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. This is still enough to clean most of a typical-sized home however, it's not enough to clean every spot (though the second time around usually will suffice). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeably superior on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums The 694 is an entry-level model that's an excellent choice for people who don't want to invest too much on a robot. It's capable of sucking up all kinds of debris in our testing, and it often passes over the same areas multiple times to get a really thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach corners and the edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and guide you through your home. However, it isn't equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, including our top picks, i3+EVO and the j7+ Series. It can get stuck on phone cords or low furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 because it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower cost of recurring costs and is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is better able to maneuver itself. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for most purposes, as it has a longer battery life, has the ability to alter its suction power mode manually and comes with physical boundary strips, and is controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It also feels better-built, has a more powerful motor, and works better on both bare floors and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a greater variety of automation features.

The app also makes it simple to steer the robot manually if needed. My living room rug, for instance, has a darkly-colored border that can trip up some other robots.
