In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading, which increases with each level of the item and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on their material type) to increase the value of 40 luck, or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Moreover some items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be used to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items are available in the shop or created by using the appropriate ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are expensive and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to boost their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

The rate of success of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials.
