It also doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of the room.

It's still a great deal for those whose home or office has a lot of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and can be used while you are at work or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuum/mop combination.

With an elegant circular design that appears like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxes this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our reviews. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features such as enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot vacuums that mop that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's the only robotic cleaner and mop vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with an intuitive mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit.
