Both robots are adept at picking up surface dirt on carpets and hard floors, and they can easily maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However, unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we test the i3+ doesn't have any obstacle-avoidance features and therefore it could be stuck on things like socks or power cords and it can have difficulty in navigating through transitions between surfaces like hardwood to carpet.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, which includes putting away any toys or clutter it may come across. It's also a good idea to keep the bin and filter clean so that they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is depleted, it returns to its docking station, automatically empties its trash into the station's external dustbin and continues cleaning where it left off. The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from all surfaces, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin, which eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions and also to move around the room, and even vacuum a specific area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. When connected we were able to give the i7+ voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world full of vacuums with cords that are like minivans and buses, this small Dyson model is an automobile. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.

The main issue with the V10 is its limited run time. As CR's tests have shown, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is a common battery-powered vacuum's run time. This is still enough to get rid of the majority of a typical-sized home, but not quite long enough to clean every area (though the second time around usually does the trick). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is significantly better on carpets with low pile.

The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's a great choice for those who don't have a lot of money to invest in an expensive robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of kinds of debris in our tests, and it often passes over the same areas many times to get a really thorough clean.
