It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can start and stop it by speaking to it.

Its design is a step above the competition with a sleek top piece that looks more like a toy robotic than a loud, obnoxious one. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System self-empties and is ideal to reduce the time spent cleaning.

In our tests the j7+ performed quick to remove dust, dirt and pet hair. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one place rather than sending it scattering across the floor. It was able capture sand, small gravel and even a tiny bit of grit. The majority of robots cannot achieve this feat. It did this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.

Although it's not as smart as the $1,217 iRobot Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum, and it's not able to clean stairs, the j7+ is still a solid option for those who need mopping and a vacuum in their home. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable as other robotic floor scrubber cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates, and it's sometimes difficult to tell if they are functioning until you actually witness them in action.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a clever well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of both vacuuming and mopping. Its design and function are some of the top available - but it's also pricey.

It's a tiny base station that looks great and is easily hidden when not in use. The station's most appealing point is how it automates various tasks and functions that most other robots will leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot charged and clean.

Its vacuuming performance is also impressive. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tested that does an excellent job of cleaning up debris from plain floors, and is not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

However, the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly in terms of navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren’t as reliable as other robotvacs. This means that it can get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the home. It's not able to navigate stairs as well as some competitors, for instance and doesn't come with a dock that lets the user to set up an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for carpets that are soft.

While it doesn't offer the same amount of cleaning-related options in its app or as many in-app shortcuts as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for an all-around great robot vacuum and mop that's worth the price tag.

Its design is less ostentatious when compared to rival models. It is sleek with a black finish and three physical buttons for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs the area in a spiral pattern over two minutes), Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The way the G30 cleans is what differentiates it from its rivals. It makes use of an integrated map to make an image of the immovable items that are in its path. It remembers what it has already cleaned and what it is unable to access. It automatically returns to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning where it left off.

The elegant G30 isn't without its faults, though. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower cost of operation. It charges faster, has a similar battery life, and is more effective on bare flooring or carpet with a low pile. It comes with a larger dust bin, which doesn't require the same amount of emptying. It also comes with boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 is less expensive and easier to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't have to be emptied as frequently and it's less difficulty handling bulky products like cereal.
