It uses AI to detect objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's the first robot to provide you with a picture of an object that it encounters, meaning you can instruct the robot to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the best robot to mop we've ever tested, picking up dirt and spills with ease without leaving any trace that was there. It's easy to control using the iRobot Home app which allows you to schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't clean areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it using voice.

Its design is superior to the rest, with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy robotic rather than a loud, loud one. The Clean Base automatic floor cleaning machine Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying which is great for reducing your cleanup time.

In our tests, we observed that the j7+ swiftly took away dirt, dust, and pet hair. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in place, rather than scattering it around the automatic floor cleaner. It was able capture sand, small gravel and even a little grit. Most robots can't achieve this feat. It did this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.

The j7+, while not as sophisticated as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum from iRobot, and cannot clean the stairs, it's a good option for those who want both mopping and a vacuum. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates, and it's sometimes difficult to know if they are working until you see them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking to purchase an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, your best option is probably hybrid. This type of robot typically comes with a built-in tank for water, meaning they can both mop and vacuum your home simultaneously. They also have a range of extra features, including smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and even the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. They are expensive at retail, but usually come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock makes some of our most loved robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ does not fail to impress. It's their most affordable auto-empty model. While it's not equipped with certain features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great option if you're willing sacrifice a bit to save hundreds of dollars.

The Q5+ is noticeable soft around obstacles like table legs and walls, which makes it an excellent choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning dust bunnies, which is a place where cheaper robot sweeper vacuums can really be a bit sloppy. The technology for navigation in the Q5+ is excellent as well, with only a few missing in corners and along walls.

Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled using the buttons on the device or via the Roborock app. The app allows you to start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, design virtual barrier and no-go areas, modify your home map or re-label the rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+, it ships with a new auto-empty dock, which was specifically designed to make the robot simple to maintain. It requires a screwdriver to install, but once installed, the process of emptying the bin is relatively simple. It features a large LCD screen which is helpful when setting up schedules and changing settings. This isn't an essential feature for most people, but it's one that can aid in keeping track of the maintenance intervals for your robot easily.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design is among the best in the industry however it's quite expensive.

It's a tiny base station that looks stunning and can be hidden when not in use. The station's main selling point is that it can automate many tasks, functions and chores that other robots would leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot clean and charged.

Its vacuuming performance is quite impressive, too. It's the only robot vacuum I've tested that does well at picking up dirt from floors that aren't. And it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

However, the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially in terms of navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, meaning it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of the home. It can't navigate stairs as well as competitors, and it doesn't have a dock that lets you to create an exclusive cleaning zone for plush carpets.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a vacuum robot that can do it all.

If you're looking to cut costs or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot broom, there are plenty of alternatives available. A lot of eufy models are significantly less. Its design is less flashy than some of the rival models, sporting sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which cleans the area in an arc for two minutes). You can also link the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.

The way in which the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from other models. It makes use of an integrated map to create an image of the unmovable objects in its path.
