The best robot vacuum (my company) can clean and vacuum your floors without having to be involved. It also leaves the floors spotless. Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as a dirt detectors) are both positives.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have tested. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the top model) they employ smart mapping to produce precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles like furniture legs. The robots also have Carpet Boost, a feature that boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our tests on floors that are bare, and they're particularly adept in removing pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws however, which prevent them from being our top option. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to get stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a good deal for those whose home or office has a lot of unfinished floors and you want to save money. Plus, it's very quiet and you can use it while you're at work or going to school. The only thing it lacks that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective in mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with a self-emptying dock, though. If you need to, the mopping pad can be replaced with one that is wet in just a few minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also comes with a powerful suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robot vacuum for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors to keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to offer better cleaning. You can change its cleaning schedule and customize zones with the well-designed app. Its battery life is average compared to similar models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when in a room with carpet, which helps prevent cross-contamination. 3. iRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks more like a regular Roomba model than the boxy models from the competition. It's one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robot vacuum reviews vacuum/mop that scored 100% in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

As with other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in mornings before work, or in the evening when you are trying to sleep.

It's also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient however it's more expensive and create more noise.

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device like Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and washes and drys the mop pads.

The smart robot cleaner makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its top rivals. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused with power cords or obstructions.

Its vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also has a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning robot mop and vacuum for various areas of the home based on how dirty the areas tend to be.
