Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template that is ending in % will suffer 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

Components

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will be dropped in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of the extent to which it will improve after a future reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process could be expensive, and there is a substantial risk that the item may be obsolete or even break when it fails; a failed upgrade will ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also offer an additional bonus when they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs increase the effectiveness of all nodes in their radius as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 as soon as possible.
