The i3+ isn't able to have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we tested. It could be stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces like carpet and hardwood.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes putting away any clutter or toys it may come across. It's also an excellent idea to keep the bin and filter clear so they do not become blocked by dirt. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and empties the dirt into the station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it began. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for about an hour and a half continuous use. It takes around three hours to recharge.

2. Roomba by iRobot

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model of the flagship line from iRobot and comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. But the most significant feature is its self-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor washing robot plans and their names thanks to Imprint smart robot Mapping, which allows it to identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can control your robot via the app or via voice.

In our testing, the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our runner-up which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces kinds including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin, which eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning routines and to move around the room, and even vacuum an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. When connected we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world of vacuums that are cordless and feel like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model is an automobile. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in most homes, but also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered with seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system removes allergens, and then releases cleaner air back into your home.
