Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris off carpets and hard floors and they are very good in moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home to help the i3+ navigate and clean up efficiently. The i3+ isn't able to have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we test. It could be stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces like carpet and hardwood.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes putting away any clutter or toys it may come across. You should also keep the filters and dust bin free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or the battery is depleted, it returns to its docking station, automatically emptying its dirt into the station's dust bin and continues cleaning the area where it started. Battery life is about an hour and a half of constant use. It takes about three hours to charge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot and is equipped with the most recent features. It has self-charging and self-navigating, but the most important feature is its self-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ can better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can direct your robot using the app or voice.

In our tests, the i7+ was more agile and faster than our second-placed model and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces kinds including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though it self-empties its dust bin that eliminates a major source of maintenance and lowers the cost of maintenance.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to begin or stop cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room, and vacuum a particular area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

It is able to quickly change between handheld and floor vacuum and vice versa.

This model comes with a dock which charges the Dyson to 100% within 3.5 hours. It also provides easy access to 2 attachments and the handheld. This is a major improvement over earlier Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The V10's main drawback is its limited running time. As CR's tests show, its advertising claims of up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is a standard, not exceptional, battery-powered vacuum's run time. This is still enough to clean most of a typical-sized home however, it's not enough to cover every area (though an additional run-through often can be effective). This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeably superior on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums The 694 is an entry-level model that's a good choice for people who don't want to invest too much on a robotic. It could pick up the majority of types of debris and sizes in our tests, and frequently went over the same area several times for an efficient clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach corners and edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and guide you through your home. However, it isn't equipped with the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, such as our top picks, the i3+EVO and J7+ Series. It can get stuck on phone cords or furniture and will often run out of power before returning to its base.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also has physical boundaries strips that can be controlled using the voice assistant on your smartphone. It is also more robust, has a larger motor, and is more effective on low-pile and bare floors.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's not a surprise, then, that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is equipped with cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
